Strategic Environmental Assessment
This is a process of appraisal through which environmental protection and sustainable development may be considered, and factored into national and local decisions regarding government (and other) policies, plans and programmes. We are currently conducting reviews of inshore seabirds around the UK as part of the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) SEA process.
Seabird Survey Training
Cork Ecology offer courses designed to train marine surveyors to an ESAS accepted standard. Claire Pollock and Colin Barton are the only accredited ESAS trainers currently operating in Ireland.
Data Analysis
Cork Ecology offer a complete data analysis service, managing marine survey data for offshore wind farm developments, oil and gas developments and seismic surveys.
Desk-based Assessments
Cork Ecology offer a desk-based collation, review and assessment of published environmental information for specific projects, prior to conducting surveys on site. These assessments can be used to highlight gaps in baseline environmental information about a site, allowing a more focused and cost effective survey plan to be drawn up.
